  30. 1.  PageBars will no longer blank out the text field in Find/Change when searching multiple stories.

  32. 2.  PagePrinter's preferences for displaying its dialog instead of PageMaker's is now working.

  34. 3.  Please note that PageTools 2.0.1 will only work in a English version of PageMaker.  If you are a Dutch, Swedish, French, or German PageMaker user, please see the Extensis CD for a different installation.

  49. Other Technical Notes
  50. Microtek Scanners
  51. Microtek scanners may interfere with the built-in electronic registration process. If you are using a Microtek scanner, please turn it off before attempting to register PageTools. You may turn the scanner back on once the registration process is complete.

  55. Directory Assistance II 
  56. If Norton Directory Assistance II is installed and PagePreview is turned on, users will receive an error of Type 1 when selecting the Open dialog box. To avoid this, turn off Directory Assistance or the “display previews” preference in PagePreview.

  58. Adobe Type Reunion
  59. Adobe Type Reunion can cause font information to appear in the PageTools pop-up menus if you are using a large number of fonts. When ATR is loaded with many fonts it begins to use resources from other places, including PageTools. If this ATR conflict occurs, load fewer fonts, or use a font management utility such as Suitcase to reduce the number of fonts loaded at one time.

  61. Helpful Hints
  62. PageGlossary, PageType and PageTabs store all the format entries in the Preferences files for each component.  If there is ever a need to throw away Preferences you will want to make sure you don’t lose all your format entries.

  64. Saving your Formats to separate file:
  65. 1.  Open PageType, PageGlossary, or PageTabs
  66. 2.  Click the Preferences button
  67. 3.  Click the Export button
  68. 4.  Put a check mark next to each format you want to save to the file.
  69. 5.  Click the Export button
  70. 6.  Name your export file and choose the destination folder.
  71. Hint - Put the name of the component somewhere in the filename.
  72. 7.  Click the Save button

  74. Retrieving Formats from disk:
  75. 1.  Open PageType, PageGlossary, or PageTabs
  76. 2.  Click the Preferences button
  77. 3.  Click the Import button
  78. 4.  Locate your saved file
  79. 5.  Click the Open button
  80. 6.  Check the formats you want to import
  81. 7.  Click the OK button
